I was lucky enough to grow up in a house where I got to try so many different kinds of food. my mom makes a stellar hummus from spending time in israel with my dad on business and im lucky enough to know the recipe!
mom’s israeli hummus:
to fill a 8″ dish:
4 cans garbanzo beans
1 or 2 spoonfuls tahini paste
several garlic cloves (to taste)
6 count of olive oil
4 count of lemon juice
in a food processor, puree the garbanzo beans and garlic. add the tahini. i prefer a little less, so i do about one large spoonful. keep pureeing and add the olive oil and lemon juice as it’s mixing, and let it mix for a minute or so.
spread into a low dish or plate, drizzle olive oil and parsley on top and serve with warm pita bread, carrot sticks and whatever else you like. I love to serve feta cheese alongside with olives and tomatoes, but that’s just me.
note: a blender doesn’t work for this; you do need a food processor.
