ok, first off, i call this an apple cobbler pie because an apple cobber usually has the crispy top while a pie has two crusts. well, lucky you readers, because this pie has both a crispy topping and a bottom crust. and it is delicious.
the recipe is as follows.
peel and slice 4-5 apples. i use a combination of different apples, like granny smith, golden delicious and whatever else i see.
mix together in a bowl:
2/3 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar
a handful (approx one cup) of oats
a dash of cinnamon
a dash of nutmeg
you can use either a pre-made, uncooked pie crust (available in the refrig. section of the grocery store) or make your own. i’m lazy.
mold your crust into the pie pan and pour your pile of apples into the crust. pour the sugar mixture on top and shake around a bit so the sugar falls between the apples. slice about four or five bits of butter and place on top of the sugar mixture. bake until golden brown, about 40-45 minutes.
