in may, i ticked another stone circle (actually 3) off my list: the callanish stones, on the isle of lewis, outer hebrides, scotland. one of the more elaborate stone circles i’ve seen, callanish I (as opposed to II and III) is laid out in a celtic cross shape and boasts about 50 stones, some more than 4 meters high.
