ok, sorry about that… i ended up needing to do four svalbard posts, so these are the last of them: the ones from longyearbyen, one of the only towns up in arctic svalbard (and where the airport is), and the next one is all panoramas.

{it’s tradition in svalbard for everyone to remove their shoes upon entering a building (presumably a hospitality place, i doubt people take them off to grocery shop.) we took part in this tradition at the museums, and again at the hotel the following week. many places provide booties or slippers.}
